Right now I fully agree with you, with the basic setup scotland is nothing more than a bunching bag when it comes to events and leaders(especially leaders), but with the new setup scotland will have somewhat better land leaders than her neighbours, and slightly better naval leaders than they did before.

Yeah.. The idea was that Scotland should have a hard time through events, but they have such a superb location setup.

In my games the AI scotland always seems to (4 out of 4 times) get torn apart by Eire, Brittany and UoK in the early years.

Also it'd be nice for the remaining Christian Spanish states to possibly get some events if they manage to hold off Granada.

"AI" is irrelevant for determening balance in a game.

We have a too little statistical sample to determine if a country is good or bad yet, but from the set of ONE Mp game, Scotland is definitely not underpowered.

I dont think the "succesful" countries in the first major MP should be changed much.

Northwestern Europe saw alot of conflict in our game, but south and southeast lacked conflict.. Granada is basically just a super-portugal.

Well that would really depend what the scenario wants from Scotland, is it there as a minor or a major?

I designed it as a medium power with potential.

And we'll see what happens after 4 or 5 major MP campaigns...
