First off, spectacular mod, loving my Night's Watch playthrough! However, I'm a little confused as to how the heir for the Lord Commander is selected. What exactly is being calculated to determine who the heir is? Sometimes the pick is pretty good, others the chosen heir is pretty awful (see attached image for an example of that). Is it perhaps that it checks base stats without trait modifiers, because Ser Quenten would actually be pretty good were he not infirm, depressed, and a drunkard. Also, how often is the heir recalculated? Finally, it seems like it only draws from your courtiers as the electable pool, because it never seems to favor the commanders of Eastwatch or the Shadow Tower, is that true?

I'm pretty sure it just puts down random courteirs as your heir, like holy orders

I'm not sure, a few years earlier I won the jackpot and Tyrion Lannister himself took the black, and it immediately picked him (out of 40-some courtiers) as the heir. I guess that could have been sheer luck, but it sure seems like his god-like stats had something to do with it. I recall it did the same when Euron Crow's Eye (again, relatively awesome stats) joined a few years before that. So either I'm SUPER lucky or its checking stats somehow.

I thought it took into consideration prestige, age, Piety, and Martial Skill?

That's possible, I do notice that most of my LC's have had pretty good martial, while often being weaker in other stats. And I suppose it could be picking Ser Quenten the Besotted Ruin up there because he's old and has quite impressive piety and prestige. Is this calculation moddable, or is it sadly hard coded like so much else succession related?
