My game has no audio. There's no music on startup or in the main menu, no click noises, no sound effects or music in-game, nothing. The "Audio" tab of the "Settings" menu is also blank, with nothing in there to be toggled or changed.

I've tried verifying the integrity of my local game files and uninstalling/reinstalling to no avail. My other Paradox games (EU4, CK2) have audio that works fine.

Platform: Steam
Game version: 1.0.3
Steps to reproduce the issue.
1. Start game.
2. Wait for main menu to load in (no music plays while loading).
3. See that there is no music on main menu.
4. Go to "Audio" tab in "Settings" menu; see that it is empty.
5. Start a game.
6. Notice no music, sound effects, click noises, etc. in-game.

Please run a system file check:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...er-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Many thanks. System file check didn't appear to do anything. I'm attaching the requested files.

This is almost certainly due to the sound driver:
Driver Name: RTKVHD64.sys
Driver Version: 6.00.0001.8328 (English)
Date and Size: 12/19/2017 12:00:00 AM, 6089152 bytes
Unfortunately the Realtek site is a nightmare to navigate, I can never find driver updates on it. It's probably worth just uninstalling that driver and rebooting, then have Windows detect the device again and install a (hopefully newer!) driver.
