Why am I unable to have different rights for different models of robots? I created a Combat variant but when I set their military rights to allow "Soldiers Only" it changed the rights of all my robot variants too.

Now instead of robotic defense armies being exclusively Combots they can also be Servobots which defeats the whole purpose of having a combat variant.

and while it doesn't really matter at the end of the day, having to sort through another couple species tabs when making armies is annoying, especially when I only want to recruit from one specific robot variant

I can't make up my mind whether to start a new game or wait until 4.0 drops to see if all the changes make the game better. My last game was Fanatic Xenbophobe + Materialist and I didn't get very far with my robots although a Fallen Empire wanted a copy of the dead alien brain patterns which I always give when asked.

Good post! Robots should have individual roles and rights.

In my view, as a returned player, the 'rights options' for machine and mechanical (robots) species appears completely broken now.

Robots have more options to chose from, but as you say, since they're all grouped under a single file in the species tab (Even the robots from other empires), then the rights we give one affects all of them. I think maybe it has always been this way for our own robots, but foreign robots used to have their own branches - So that if and when we acquired them, we could differentiate rights.

Situation for machines are even worse. These are the only options for machines now:

We can't even give them decent living conditions, even if everybody else are living by those standards. I don't understand the reasoning for this... If they are truly are individuals, why not give us all the options? If the machines are natively gestalt, they are (from my experience) instantly changed into free thinking machines upon conquest now, even when the conqueror shouldn't have the technology (yet) to do that for them. Determined exterminators used to be my favorite enemies - Now I'm forced to nanny them... Incredibly disappointing! :(
