Information

I have disabled all mods

Yes

Required

Summary

No Maps to Load in Map Editor

Expected Result

I expected that Map Editor would contain or provide access to all the default maps in the game as well as any maps provided with the purchase of a DLC.

Actual Result

Map Editor showed zero maps in the "load" option.

Steps to reproduce

Even when a map is saved as a .crp file in the Saves folder and manually copied and pasted from Saves to Maps in the directory: C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines/Maps, the map is NOT available in the Map Editor. I can start a NEW map in Map Editor, save it and then load it later for further editing, but I CANNOT load any default or DLC maps, making the Editor rather useless.

Platform

Epic Games Store

Game Version

1.17.1-f4-fixed

Optional

Description

Players have posted on discussion boards and created YouTube videos about how to use the Map Editor. It seems that they can download maps from the Steam Workshop, Many of them are players that use a large number of mods.

I have three only three mods (Hide it, Bulldoze it and Purchase it). Disabling them has NOT solved the problem. I can create a new map in Map Editor that is fully functional with all three of these Mods turned on.

Grahtles has the answer for you!

Be careful using mods in the map editor. Some mods will choke on the map editor.

Search "Collections" for mods list for map editor.
Thank you, but I viewed that YouTube video previously. She shows how to copy/paste maps from STEAM into the MAPS folder on her PC. I am NOT a STEAM client. I purchased Cities Skylines through Epic Games (unfortunately). How can I get a list of maps and import them into my PC?

Thanks for the reply. Are you referring to this file path: C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines/Maps?

If so, the advice is incorrect, as the only maps found in Cities_Skylines/Maps are the ones that I started as "New" in the map editor and saved. There are no in-game or DLC maps in the "Load" option in the map editor or in the "New" option in the map editor. I checked, yet again, this morning.

You got the last / backwards. (Typo I assume)

I meant when you install epic games the vanilla maps are in the "CitiesSkylines" folder of Epic games.

But there are two folders. The one you listed is for the map editor.

The one in Epic Games is the base game maps that you copy over. I don't know what folder you installed Epic Games, but it is in the Epic Games folder with the path I listed.

D:\CitiesSkylines\Files\Maps

I installed Epic Games to C:\ and installed Cities Skylines to D:\

I just now installed Epic Games on my other PC and put everything on C:\

All vanilla maps should be here and ready to be copied to appdata:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\CitiesSkylines\Files\Maps

***************************************

EDIT:

I installed all of Epic Games to C: and It seems Epic Games installed in both, "Program Files (86)" (Epic Games App) and "Program Files" (Epic Games folder where games are installed)

Hi. Thank you for the clarification and the pathway. I saw an Epic Games folder in App Data, but I didn't realize that I have another Epic Games folder in Program Files. I found the maps in the Epic Games folder in Program Files and copied them to the Maps folder in Colossal Order in App Data. I tested it in Map Editor and am able to find the Murky Coast map. I can edit it now. We can call this issue resolved.

Thank you so much for solving this for me. I really appreciate your help and clarity.
