Strange little problem. When I patched my North American version of Europa Universalis 2 up to 1.02 I suddenly lost all in game music. The intro plays fine and the sound effects are all there but the background music, even for the credits, is gone.

I checked the volume slider and put it in every position I could think of, no dice.

My system is:

Intel P3 800Mhz
128 MB SDRAM @ 133Mhz
HP CD-Writer Plus 9100i 32X
Creative Labs PCI512 Sound Card
Xtasy Ti200 GeForce 3 Video Card

The soundtracks give the game a real sense of atmosphere, any help in getting them back is much appreciated.

as a work-around, load the music in an mp3 player like WinAmp ( www.winamp.com ) and have it played from there. Be sure to disable the music in EU2 settings.

Other than that, I don't really know what to do... maybe someone else will have an idea, so keep checking this thread.

Otherwise, you could still uninstall the game and reinstall it, but imho, you'd be better off with WinAmp.
