So we won't get to play the abbadids of seville, the osman, etc?

Dissapointing.

Or wait for a game called something like: The Rise of Islam (if there is demand for it)

Just wait for CKII though.:)

Well, it's just that surely after all the development time, they could implement it.

No muslim nations? oh boy, I hope not! The game is called Crusader Kings, not Terrorist Bigot Sultans.

Right.

If you need me, I'll be filling the streets of constantinople with the blood of fellow christians.

Well, since Sergei cannot post, we shouldn't fear...but just to be safe, could someone check snowball's forums and see if sergei is implementing some religious conversion feature?

Honestly, I'd actually be willing to wait a little longer for CK if that would get us the ability to control Muslim nations and (my pet dream) LEAGUES OF CITIES!

Now THAT would be awesome.

frankly, I can't wait. This CK bussiness is long overdue...Maybe for CK2, which may include a stronger relation with Paradox....but from now on, I just want my nice medieval game

What I can't see is how muslim states differ from the empire.

I am here to serve warning on this thread.

Several Rules of Paradox Boards have been broken, and warnings will be sent.

I recommend the participants in question read a copy of the board rules, and that other participants do not poke the trolls.

The empire was already fragmented by 1066 and continued to fragment thereafter. There should be multiple Muslim states available.

The problem is that the "feudalism" structure of this game might not be compatible with a Muslim state as they really didn't have interlocking "layers" of vassals. Vassalage existed among the Seljuks, but I don't think it was hereditary.

On the other hand, that might suggest (perhaps in CK2) a distinct "Muslim tech" route with different goals and mechanics.

And now that I am at it, CK2 could also introduce a "League tech", where leagues of cities can be formed, where nobility does not matter internally, but only externally, with commercial and civic objectives in a republican/dogal setting. (I'm salivating just thinking about it!:p )

Anyway, these three distinct techs would pretty much cover all the "systems" available in the Middle Ages -- and give a really stunning flavor to Medieval politics and warfare.

(BTW, Thanks Blade!)
