Hey guys, after a 6 month hiatus from playing CK2, I reinstalled the game today to load it up and for there to be no sounds whatsoever in the game. I've done everything I can think of to sort this out on my own, but in the end I've decided to come here and see if anyone else has had the same issue. It is literally just CK2 I'm having this problem with, all my other games have sound.

Sorry if this has been posted in the wrong place, but I'm just getting really frustrated with the game now.

... I've done everything I can think of to sort this out on my own,...

Which would have been interesting to know what that was...
Not a common issue though.
Un-and reinstallation, completely by manually deleting the game file folder and the CK2 folder in Documents ?
Did you at least check the Audio tab in Options ?

PS: This should be in the Tech support subforum, but i'm curious on some hard informative facts.

I first uninstalled and deleted all mods, followed by un-and-reinstalling from steam, followed by un-and reinstalling by deleting the CK2 folder in documents. No luck.

Also, check you haven't selectively muted CK2 in Windows' Volume Mixer. IME, Windows remembers those settings between resets, so it's possible Windows has remembered the fact you muted CK2 6 months ago.

I've checked volume mixer and CK2 isn't muted unfortunately. Nothing seems to work.

Thanks for the response guys, sorry about it taking all day to get back, I've been at work.

This used to be okay when you played previously, is that right? Or it was a problem back then too?

Same computer, Windows version?

Is HOI3 okay in this respect?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .
