Yeah I know there are mods for it, but it's annoying when some of my favorite mods aren't compatible with it, and it breaks immersion when you have this massive grey useless blob in the middle of the nation.

What's immersion-breaking about territory that it was impossible to move armies through or extract an economic surplus from being impossible to move armies through or extract economic benefits from?Yeah I know there are mods for it, but it's annoying when some of my favorite mods aren't compatible with it, and it breaks immersion when you have this massive grey useless blob in the middle of the nation.
We're going to change colored wasteland to a proper graphics option, but removing it altogether? No.
Wasteland can make certain areas more interesting to traverse and conquer. It also makes Russian colonization less insane.
The sole problem is the big color mass messing with borders. It would be nice if in political view wastelands were colored by whoever owned the most adjoining territory (or some other rule) to make the map look better.
So its finally going to be ironman compatible? PLS!We're going to change colored wasteland to a proper graphics option, but removing it altogether? No.

Per Jomini's observations about steel production, steam engines, and explosives, that would be in the vicinity of ADM/MIL 34/34.Yeah, that's what I've been thinking, or maybe like controlling a couple of adjoining provinces would get you a certain amount of control over some of the wasteland. It would also be cool if, after you get to a certain tech level, you could build highways or something through wasteland so you could at least traverse troops through the wastes
