Is there a general thread that introduces (in the form of a tutorial) the aspiring map maker in the ways of this noble art? 
If not, wouldnt it be best if such was created, since i guess a huge amount of people have lots of projects that they would want to do, but refrain from it since they are intimidated by the sheer difficulty of understanding the map tools.
