Well I always noticed in my khaliphate or grenada events "Im addicted to them :D " that Tunis, Tripoli and Cyrenia get annexed, and also Algeirs sometimes, by Sicily, the Papal States and Genoa.
So I looked up the history of the region, remembering the Almohad empire which kept the muslims afloat for some time in Spain. Now the Zayyanid seem to have ruled Algeirs for some time, and their influence whaned at the 15the century. Now with Al-Andalus secure, that means they dont really have any considerable goal.
However in the game the christians in Italy take intrest in North Africa, shouldnt that propet at least the rise of a North African state that wouldnt be eaten up by the christians or the Egyptians or Grenadians?
We need to form the Almohad Empire , with considerable events of power in North Africa AND a way to deal with the christian threat in Italy.Perhaps they can view Italy as the new "Al-Andalus" , events for the invasion of Tarantino, or an invasion against the Sicilian empire...etc
Of course they would be weak, but I merely want to see them have a chance to deal with the christians.
I have some ideas, but I want to see what you folks think, I think it would be fun to see a fanatic muslim state between the khaliphate, Egyptians and Grenadians forming its chunk of empire.

Mameluks, Fatimids, Egypt can quite easily gain control all the way to Tunis and Fatimids have a slight chance to eat al-Djazira as well. Anyway, controlling Tunis means that they have the better chance to go on to Malta, Sicily, Italy, whatever.
Just to point out that the area hasn't been forgotten.

Not to mention that every region needs its weak points, as far as Aberration is concerned. You seem to be all for making the muslim countries very overpowered, which (aside from the limited areas it's already been done in) was never the point of Aberration. The idea was specific, generally non-historical countries - not putting half of Europe under siege.

The Muslim world already has three or four serious powers (Granada, Caliphate, Egypt, Oman, I believe), which is about right compared to sections of Europe with similar amounts of provinces (The Catholics of France and Iberia, for example, exist in a total of about that many provinces with only 3 major countries and several little ones - and one of those three is also a player in the British Isles area).

I think the phonomena of going into central North Africa from Italy is certainly justified, if affairs in Italy are more organized than they historically were (most historical states in Italy would not even cover a whole province on the EU2 map) and those larger states are able to look outward. With Granada straddling the Giraltar strait, their expansionism cannot be directed out to colonization (at least not easily) and they are boxed in by other major powers to the north, west and east.

well dosent have to ve a country in itself, but perhaps a small event for Tripoli and Tunis to 'lets call the Berber tribes" to fight off the Italians.

Or why not let Granada interfere in North African affairs. If the North African states feel threaten by a christian country it's only natural they would seek support from a strong moslem empire. There could be events that make them vassals and allies of Granada

good idea...let me see what I can do...

Fatamid events are for expansion into North Africa, I want to create events to protect africa from the Italian cities ;)

What a better way to protect than incorporate them with greater Empire?

Isnt that always the case? :p
