Diplomatic Influence

I just started playing this game today, so please excuse my ignorance, but I can't find anything about this in the forums.

The status bar will report that I have 3 Diplomatic Influence points, but when a go to choose an action that requires 3 points it says that I don't have enough. Then at some point in the future I do. It is almost like I have 2.9, but the status bar reports 3. And then I get 3.0 and the status bar doesn't change, but 3 point choiced become available.

Any help on this?

It's because the number you see is a rounded figure. The game does not show you the decimals, but only a round number. So, when you see 3, it might actually be 2.864 or something.
