Messed up Graphics after viewing Desktop

If I (using Ctrl+Tab or Windows Key) activate another app and the come back to VIC the buttons are usually not aligned with button text and 1 time (so far) the world map looked like a puzzle put together wrong  .

Not sure what to do except don't go to desktop!!!

Running WinXP SP2, P4 1.6 Ghz, 1024 MB RAM, 64 MB NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440, DirectX 9.0c

Hi myddyn, and welcome to the forums :)

You're right. If you alt-tab while Vicky is loading graphics, the graphics become twisted. As you're saying, the only solution is to not swicth while the game is loading the graphics.

its if you change window mode from full screen to minimized while it is loading, either after initially starting, or while loading a scenario.
I think its caused by the game stretching the graphical parts to fit what it thinks is the game resolution, but while its minimised the system resolution is probably different... then when you return to the game, the layout is right but all the images are the wrong size.
the worst ive seen was in a recent mp game, i was reading something out of game while i waited for a modem user to get the scenario... but i didnt realise they started the game already.

obviously to prevent this, you should never minimise the game while its loading.

wow, Coco that picture is art :D

And on a side note, running Adobe Acrobat in the background will force Victoria to minimize. If this happens while Victoria is loading, Viki's dialog boxes and buttons will become striped. You should try it once. ;)
