Not CK2+ related gameplay problem but I need help :)

Didn't get answer in main CK2 forum, so maybe someone here will help me? It's a long story, but my character was involved in war to overthrow ruler (Great Knyaz) as a minor supporter. That ruler is my relative (same dynasty) so my character has some potential claim on his titles. So, we've lost and everyone got imprisoned with another my relative and my vassal being appointed as my regent. He's ready to ransom me and I have enough gold, but the ruler doesn't want to release me because "gold is good, but he's a claimant". My character is childless so my heir currently is my older brother (and father of my regent/vassal) and he's also stuck in same dungeon. Game is in ironmode so it's impossible to load older saves. The question is - is this basically game-over for this character and I can only wait until something unusual will happen or there're some ways to get out of jail somehow? If yes, please suggest me, any help will be valuable! :blink:

iirc there's nothing you can do to influence breaking out of prison, unless the new foci brought something for that anyways. Nor is there any way to make the AI more (or less) likely to kick you out.

So the only way to continue this game is to wait until my char will die in jail and play as his heir (who is gonna be some random and unpredicted relative in this case)?

You should have thought about it the risks of winning versus losing. At least you have an heir to continue the game with. Plus you can plot out the extinction of the dynasty who imprisoned you.

If my character wasn't from ruler's dynasty he should have agreed to ransom me easily

I got imprisoned before while playing CK2+ and had the option to smuggle out a letter to a character that had a high opinion of me, believe it was a countess. She subsequently paid for my release. This is when I had the intrigue focus and the event popped up about 6 months in prison.
