So, I (Duke of Brandenburg) happily joined in when KoG etc. declared war on Mecklemburg. Things were going reasonably well for me when the Duke of Saxony, who was getting a little beat up, made peace with Meck. All of a sudden my 90% complete seige goes away and all I can do is trundle back home cursing Saxon wusses...

I thought only your liege (and his if applicable) could force you to peace.

note: tried a re-load and the same thing happened again

Saxony: allied w/ Lower Lorraine, vassal of KoG, liege of Oldenburg, Osnabruck, Bremen, Munster

KoG: allied w/ France, liege of D-Saxony, D-Brandenburg, and a pile of others

Brandenburg (me): vassal of KoG, liege of Anhalt, own Brandenburg & Altmark

Mecklemberg: allied w/ Yatviags & Pommeranians

At start of a save I have KoG, Sax, & Lower Lorraine are at war w/ Meck. Not wanting liege to grab my troops and seeing a chance to grab the eastern Meck provinces while they go after the big 2, I DOW Meck. Yatviags & Pomms know DOWing me means tangling w/ KoG & France and want none of that so they do nothing. I invade Werle while Meck army tangles w/ Saxons & Germans in Luneburg. Meck army loses and runs, soon thereafter they buy off Saxony and I go to peace with Meck. KoG, however, is still at war w/ Meck and their courtier continues my seige in Werle.

note: pic below is from a re-run of the incident from a save I have and shows immediate aftermath of Sax going to peace

Are you sure it wasn't the King who signed peace?

Edit: from your second post they apepears to have continued the war, right?

Yeah, KoG continued the war. The first 2 times it happened you could see the German armies fighting Meck as my independant seige stopped, also, the first time I thought it was KoG so I looked to see what he got out of it in the message pane and there was no KoG peace entry, only the Saxony one.

this happened to me aswell with the latest beta patch..(i'm currently away so i cant check the facts, but i'm confident i'm not including anything false in this post)
i was playing as duke of dauphine, a vassal of the King of Germany
and as my loyalty was low i had allied with a bunch including the duke of milano(who also was a vassal of the KoG (or atleast i think he was))
i noticed that the duchy of krain(i think) with a couple of vassals(bishopric of padua and something else) were no longer part of germany(i cannot say if they were at war with the KoG...)

so i declared war, sieged the closest province when bam! i was no longer at war with 'em.
i checked the log and reloaded a couple of times and as best i can say this is what happened(a quote from the log, edited to remove various things happening in unrelated areas):
We liberated the province of Padua from Bishopric of Padua
Guglielmo Duke of Milano accepted peace with Maslaw Bishop of Padua on the following terms : Maslaw Bishop of Padua paid 3 $ in indemnities.

so i was bound by a truce signed by my ally/a equal level vassal of my liege
[you are supposed to give additional evidence to bug sightings that arent classified as bugs/wads/etc right? (such as this one?)]

Yes, I'm sure you recounted it correctly. It's nothing to do with your alliances. When your co-vassal makes peace, you are forced into peace as well.

I posted about it too in the thread spontaneous peace (It's been a month ago.) It's happened to me more than once, and I can reproduce it exactly from my saved game. Hopefully I will eventually have the pleasure of seeing BUG prefixed to one or the other of these threads.
