Hey guys,

Windows XP user here. The game will play the opening videos and the opening splash screen, and then slap me with a sound loop & blue screen of death combo.

I satisfy the minimum requirements, though just barely; 128 mb graphics card with Directx 9.0c and Pixel Shader 3.0. That being said, the game didn't specify chipsets, so I thought it would be fine. I'm hoping I can shift graphics settings around to solve this.

My DxDiag is attached.

As an update, the "log" file in the install directory for the game says that a bunch of files should have been "crypted". Here is the text:

It is imperative that you inform your local graveyard of these files, as they absolutely must be crypted immediately.

Hi defoffuture!

As you said your graphics card barely meets the minimum requirements. You could try manually editing the options.txt file in the your Documents\East India Company\Config folder. In the graphics block try these following settings:

Graphics
{
anisotropic_filtering = 0
antialias_samples = 0
graphic_settings = 3
lighting_texture_quality = 0 %
model_detail = 0
particle_detail = 0
port_characters = 0
portview_2d = 1
loadscreens_2d = 0
render_normalmaps = 0
render_shadowmaps = 0
shadow_detail_level = 0
ship_crew = 0
square_water = 1
texture_detail_level = 0 %
water_detail_level = 0
}

it's working, but it's creeping along. Not much you guys can do about my crappy video card. Thanks! :)

I tried the solution but the problem still appear after the intro movie...
Here is the log which saved after ran game...

THX a lot~~

What are the specs for your graphics card? Are they the same as defoffuture's (128 mb graphics card with Directx 9.0c and Pixel Shader 3.0.)??

Sorry for forget to post PC info.
