i dont know about others but i would very much like the old conquest system (eu3,vic2,all of paradox games) where you capture provinces and demand them on diplomacy screen (to prevent ugly borders) and i hate when vassals get the land i want to get it then share accordingly ? so what you guys think about my idea should it be ingame?

what i'd like to see regarding conquest is:

you get your province captured, you have three options: 1- flee, 2- burn the castle and stay in it, 3- burn whatever you can and run [this doesn't burn all castle improvements, but instead, burns a random number of improvements you've made in the province] to lessen the province's worth to your enemy.

another bunch of side notes i'd like to request are:

also, i also would like to see an option that have your vassals relocate, basically, all land owned by one family is that of the clan leader, he in turn distribute lands to reward vassals and as payment for their efforts and service.

another thing, spam us with events.

also, make it possible to have "visits" and talks to characters or even invite characters to a tea ceremony as methods of improving relations, having mere static modifiers is rather too plain for my taste.

also, regarding the ikko-ikki, i thing you should make them able to expand and plot, but also able to form alliances and whatnot

Yea it's unique to Sengoku because that's what this game is really about.. Conquest.. The end goal is not a score for once, but conquering Japan.. So I don't see that changing..

And no worries comes CK II it's using the old system, or at least a variation of it, (at least from what I've seen in the videos and dev diaries), so you won't probably see it extended past this game.

Unless of course in the future they choose to do China instead ;) haha..

I'm sorry, burn the castle and stay in it?

That seems like a strategic mistake :p

yep. shibata katsuie did, takeda katsuyori, azai nagamasa, hisahide matsunaga, these are the examples that come to the top of my head, just gives flavor, and you can get rid of one ruler and go to his younger son, better that than lower your honor to the point of no return, no?

If I kidnap a Lord's 10 year old daughter, I want the [ransom function] to appear..otherwise the brat sits with us for 5 years without doing anything useful. "A province for your daughter?" If no trade, then she should remain in my custody and if I choose, I shall appoint her to Geisha.

If I kidnap a Lord's 10 year old daughter, and I find her personality traits complimenting the clan's attributes, thus worthy of my seed, then as her Master, I will arrange her marriage to me. I shall have the right to provide her with gifts so that her likeness towards me increases to expedite this union. My present wives will welcome her to our family and teach her the ways of our clan.

No, it just wouldn't make sense in this context. That said, it would be great if something could be added to put the brakes on conquest a bit. With no war exhaustion or infamy system (and little chance of the enemy getting back up once its down), there's no real reason for one clan to stop until the other is wiped out.

Japan =/= Europe. It did not have such kind of formal agreements. It was one nation in a civil war, not multiple countries that had their own goals and with blobbing being the point of the game, there is not even a gameplay reason for such radical breaks. There should be some breaks of course, but not like these.

As for vassals taking over land... they do it only and only if their own personal retainers conquer a kori. It was conquered by their personal army and they have every right to keep the conquered kori. It makes no sense for them to give the control to you if THEY took it, especially if you didn't help them.

It would be nice if we could "trade" provinces though, I.e. the daimyo of X conquers a province in Y, I the clan leader want to trade the province in Y to the Daimyo of Y, for a province in X for the Daimyo of X.

It would be a good idea to prevent armies from going more than 1 province away from their home territories. That would curb all the wandering cap'ing and limit it to the few adjacent provinces between the warring clans. It would also restrict the crazy amount of armies wandering through other neutral clans territory all the time.

Just another thought.
