During my learning game, a Grand Campaign as Spain, I found something that could be considered a cheat ...
First of all, I have changed the messaging settings for diplomacy events. They now show not as a notification icon in the upper right corner, but as a dialog message. I did this, because I frequently missed important events, such as a request to honor my alliances. This became too costly with respect to my diplomatic relations and internal stability.
So, at one moment, I got a dialog from France, requesting to honor my alliance and declare war on, I thing it was, Turkey. At this time, I wasn't sure how this would impact my relations and military (it was, after all, a game I played to learn the various possibilities and consequences), so I decided that, before pressing an answer button, I should save my game. When it turned out I made the wrong choise, I could reload and try the other answer.
So I saved, made indeed the wrong choise by declaring war (Turkey was way too strong for me at that time), and I reloaded, expecting to see the dialog box again, so I could specify the opposite response.
It never came ! However, the alliance was still intact, I was *NOT* at war, my stability was *NOT* reduced, and my diplomatic rating towards my alliance partners was *NOT* negatively impaired !
If nothing else, this should be regarded as a cheat, since it provides a way out of every war your alliance partners want to drag you in to, without the negative diplomatic hit it normally goes with.
