I see that the beta has a "Orders forced to Catholic on EU2 export" option, but there seems to be a problem with the Orders becoming Muslim immediately.

In 1.04a, I am continually seeing the Orders (Templar and Hospitaler, not as sure about Teutonics, having checked) becoming Muslim after the first leader dies.

I figured this would happen after checking the court of the first Templar Grandmaster and seeing his next 5 successors were all Arab Muslims.

This is rather ahistorically goofy.

Making it certain that Knight Orders would not be inherited by any muslim would require modifying Elective Succession law, so it's unlikely to get tweaked.

Also, this is a known issue, so you would be better off by starting a new thread in either General Discussions or Public Beta about how this should be fixed. :)

A quick fix would be to add some events for the Orders with a low MTTH booting muclims and pagans from the court. Should solve this in most cases...

CK could auto-convert each new Grandmaster on succession; there are only a few tags that are Grandmasters.

Is there a public list of known issues? I see only 27 threads in the bug forum, none of which seems relevant, and no list of known issues. I checked the public beta changelogs and saw nothing there, as well.

While I understand the futility of a duplicate report of a known issue, not providing such a list and then dinging people for duplicates, seems rather rude.

Maybe, but I doubt it. The impression I was getting was that as the Orders start with no one in the court, the automatically generated courtiers are appropriate for the provinces they are in, and so fills in with Arab Muslims. If the generation of random courtiers is as per children (ruler, spouse, province) then this idea might work.

On the other hand, Order events with a low MTTH just converting the ruler and courtiers to catholic would probably work.

Well, the only way to be absolutely certain that a muslim would not inherit them on some cases would be to tweak Elective law, as events always take some time to fire, so if a muslim enters the court of Order on day 1 and Grandmaster dies on day 2, there would be a muslim Grandmaster again.

I like that idea of converting non-catholic grandmaster into catholic though.

EDIT: And I meaned with "Known Issue" that people who work on improving CK are aware of this thing, most likely as it has been reported earlier.

It's not just a matter of religion. A hospitaler knight had to be a French noble and a teutonic knight had to be a German noble. It is just as silly to have Arab grandmasters as it is Muslim.

Even in the final version, there may be occasions when 'F12 die' is warranted.

Maybe this would be helped by events that expel all non-appropriate cultured or religion courtiers from Order courts and kill any non-appropriate culture or religion grandmaster?

Did Templars have same kind of rule for Grandmasters?

Making sure that there are no such occasions improves immersion IMO.

No, actually, I was mistaken -- the Hospitallers were not limited to French nobles, but they were historically dominated by French. They had chapters in every European country called "commanderies." The Templars were also international.

However, I think your events suggestion would be appropriate.
