This map inspired by the area surrounding the US Pacific Coast City of Newport, OR. I’ve taken several creative liberties to make the area easier to work with within the limitations of the current vanilla game, but the map itself is based on a height map of the actual area, so it is fairly accurate to what you would find in the area if everything but the base infrastructure was cleared off the real map.

Forum won’t let me include the link for some reason; but you can find the map on ParadoxMods if you search for ‘Oregon Coast’. Here is a broken link, you can use in your browser if you add the https to the beginning: mods(dot)paradoxplaz(dot)com/mods/94639/Any

Map Includes:

  • A starting area with Power and Rail connections from the get go.
  • Several other building pads that are suitable for small to medium sized coastal cities as you find in the area in real life.
  • A plethora of outside connections with multiple options for air, rail and shipping. The two pain highways are inspired by US Hwy 101 and US Hwy 20, with a couple other minor highways added to facilitate some of the create liberties I’ve made to make the region and building in it more efficient.
  • Lots of resources; including a ton of Timber harvesting potential in the costal mountains, along with Oil and Ore, as well as some agriculture sprinkled in as well (definitely more of that than exists in this region in real life).

Future Plans

I will be regularly updating and polishing this region map as I get more proficient with the beta map editor, and I am always open for feedback and ideas on how to improve the map for all of our enjoyment. I’d love to hear from you all with your ideas and suggestions!
