Hello everybody!

Version 1.4 Is out!

Changelog - Version 1.4:
--------------------------
-Fixed and tweaked all sorts of events
-Moved the Turkish alliance event even further to the fall of France, since the German AI is STILL messed up, even on the western front
-Added an event that makes Lybia defect from Italy to the newly-established Egypt to prevent Italy from taking Egypt instead of Turkey
-Added an event chain that allows Turkey to suggest Germany to invade Rep. Spain/Invite Nat. Spain to the axis (depends on who survived the war), to gain complete axis control over the Mediterranean
-Added an event that gives Turkey claims on Slovakia and Hungary, given that it is a member of the comintern and the Germany lost Warsaw OR Turkey is a member of the allies and Germany lost Paris

Changelog - Version 1.3:
--------------------------
-Changed the alliance event for Turkey, it will now only fire after the fall of Poland, due to an German AI bug which considers allied Turkey to be the strongest belligrent on the Polish border and as a result doesn't go on the offensive (Thank you, cp3revolution and UltimaGecko!)
-Added interwar events, to add more cores and action to the gameplay, mainly for axis Turkey
-Added a communist coup event that takes place when Turkey joins the comintern

Changelog - Version 1.2:
--------------------------
-Tweaked some events and the AI decisions
-Added an event chain for a Turkish deeper invasion into Europe, and the Belegrade Conference - An international conference that allows every superpwer to send various kinds of support to Yugoslavia and Romania

Changelog - Version 1.1:
--------------------------

-Reworked the takeover of Iraq - added new events for a short period of Iraqi independence rather than immediate annexations for fun and suspense
-Added lots of new alliance options for Turkey
-Fixed a bug in which Turkey has no claims on the Dardanelles
-Added an event chain to puppet Saudia and take her Ottoman provinces

I see that this forum is dying by the day, unfortunately. It's an honor to brighten it up a little and freshen it up with movement!

This is a mod I made, since I couldn't find any decent Ottoman mod. All the ones I came across ended up being obsolete links or too simple.

Hope you'll enjoy!

Features:
- 71 new events to guide Turkey's expansion and confrontations, including a brand-new Arab coalition, a third Balkan war and much more!
- A new leader file for Turkey, also adding the Ottoman generals to their army
- All nations, other than Turkey, are also fully playable!

Installation instructions:
1. Create a fresh copy of the vanilla HOI 2 arma (might also work with regular HOI 2 and doomsday, never checked it).
2. Open the file HOI 2/db/events/HOI2.txt. Copy the written events in the "Ottoman Empire" txt file I added into the "HOI2" txt file.

Optional Bonus:
3. Take Turkey's leader file and replace it with the original found in HOI 2/db/leaders.

I'll be happy to hear about your gaming experience, also - bug report would be appreciated!

picture from a test game, it's 1938 and Turkey took the axis path. (it's on v1.2):

I'm proud to say that after testing myself, this mod seems to be fully playable. From now on, I'll just enhance it - but the basic features are all fully installed. On the first post, I've added pics from my test game, I've taken the obvious route and joined the axis. It's 1938, and there are currently no wars.

Looks like I'm going to have to face the allies in both Africa and the Arab Penisula. I'm also building forces up the Soviet border - for obvious reasons. I'm pretty sure my strength, combined with Italy's, will be more than enough to destroy Egypt and drive the UK and France out of Africa.

That's it, folks. Version 1.4 is out, and this mod is officially complete!

If I'll release a new version - it'll only fix bugs and tweak the already-existing materials.
I'll STILL be happy to hear about your gameplay! Feel free to write about it here.

Would Hitler have tolerated a Turkish Empire within mainland Europe?

lol I didn't come to think of that, really. I guess not. But given the fact that it fights the allies in Africa and shares the common hate for the Soviets - I guess you COULD tolerate that. Even Hitler was somewhat pragmatic on the pre-war era, and allowed certain freedom to his lesser allies, and he even filled certain land claims by Italy, Bulgaria etc. Hell, the man signed the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact despite his deep hatred to Bolshevism. If it bothers people that much - I wouldn't care adding an event of Hitler being murdered by a Turkish citizen or something.

Besides, I guess you could say that about all sorts of ahistorical mods, such as The Austrian Empire Mod.

I've only come to test v1.4 now, and it seems there was a bug that made it unplayable. I'm uploading a new, working version.

If you've already downloaded V1.4, here's how you fix it:

1. Open HOI2.txt, where the mod's events are
2. Go to the last event, called "The Axis is Falling!" (ID: 1000070)

There, you can find this line:

desc = "The allies achieved a wonderful thing today - the Germans no longer hold Paris! The downfall of Fascism in Europe is only a matter of time now!

3.You can see it's missing quotes at the end of the sentence. Simply add it and the mod is playable!

I guess you're right about that. Although I would say, post victory, the likelihood of war between the two would be exceptionally high! Even war between the German and Japanese spheres would have been high if they had succeeded, because the ideologies are distinctly racist. The only exception is Italy which, although appeasing the Germans by introducing anti-semitism in 1938, was officially non-racist. Maybe a deal could be made on the Mediterranean when the war is over ;)

It was true that in the end, Mussolini was growing incredibly tired of Hitler and his rambling...realising that his alliance was a complete mistake. They were quiet rivals, and Mussolini really wasn't fond of Hitler's race issues. With a new Turkish Empire, it might be possible to change Italy's direction from the offset. So yeah...What are the chances of Hitler attacking a Turko-Italian alliance, with a mixture of the territory shown? Close to no chance, because their influence if effectively neutralised and it would an incredibly unpopular war...even with the propaganda. They'd slog it out with the Soviets and get steam rolled probably.
