I know this is off topic and it might get booted, but I would love to hear what other paradox games you guys play? I have been thinking of picking up a copy of victoria 2 or
EU3.

EU3 with all expansions best PDX game ever <3 ! Victoria 2 is a bit harder, but it's pretty awesome with all expansions too. 500 plus hours on EU3, and 150ish on Victoria 2 amazing games worth it :)

I too have over 500 hours of Europa Universalis 3 gameplay, and I'd highly recommend it. What fun to take a tiny kingdom to a mighty empire! Victoria 2 is also some fun, but more complex in economics and politics. I have 10+ hours of gameplay but I'm still not entirely used to it.

You won't be dissatisfied with EUIII.

As it relates to Victoria series, if you prefer more micromanagement, I recommend Victoria I with the Revolutions expansion over Victoria II. The draw back is that Victoria I doesn't have as nice of graphics as VicII.

Although when you have played EU3 this much world conquest on VH difficulty becomes a regular x) Unless you are an OPM which can fall just short. And I have 630 hours*

thanks I think I will pick up a copy of EU3 Chronicles. I think it includes the complete version plus the 2 newest expansions.

Youll love it trust! Takes a bit of learning first though, so be prepared but you can get the swing of it. Choose an easy country like France or Castille to start :)

Oh and pick up the sprite packs too they add some nice flavor:)

Yes it does. However, FYI, if you collect the mini game icons which are displayed below your name in the forum, be mindful of what games actually give those icons. For example, if you get the chronicles title, you will only get the green helmet to represent the chronicles collection. If however you buy the game and then each expansion title separately, you will have a total of four icons (I think four): 1. base game icon, 2. In nomine icon, 3. Napoleon icon, and then 4. Divine Wind icon.

If you knew beforehand the thread was in the wrong place, why on earth didn't you post it in the forum it belongs in? :glare: "I'm sorry for... but actually I'm not since I did it anyway" mentality is horrible.

As for what games I play - See the medals below my avatar.

Edit: You are terribly wrong bout the "medals" and chronicles, Ordo - at least if we're talking Steamstore (I obviously cannot comment on others) I bought Chronicles on Steam and got a cdkey for each seperate expansion as you can clearly see on my list.

well the reason i posted here is i find the posters in this sub forum very helpful :)and for some reason I can't post on the general forums.

always for a fellow dwarf :D

Since you asked about other Paradox games. let me help find the midle ground and bring it closer to aGoD
I also play Starvoid - which was made by Zeal (the makers of this awesome game)

:p

You can see what other Paradox games that I own under my avatar
<<<<<

Out of those, this game is about the only one that I play on a regular bases however once in a blue moon I still dabble in:
Sengoku
Cities in Motion (highly awaiting Cities in Motion 2 due out I think next year.
EU3 But not very often, I dust this one off maybe once a year for a day or so.

Personally I've always found the Paradox Holy Strategy games very unaproachable by a new player, the problem is that they are games that I WANT TO LOVE, but I guess I just don't have either the patience or enough actual brain cells to figure them out. I always start up a game of one of their high strategy games and sit at my screen just wondering what it is they would like me to do in it. Then I go off and watch somebody else play either in a live stream or over on youtube to try to grasp a basic understanding of what it is exactly I should be doing. I go try the game again, and still end up sitting there staring at my screen. I WANT to love the Paradox strategy games desperately as you might be able to tell by my buying them, but other than a very minimal basic understanding of EU3, and a slightly more understanding of Sengoku, I really just never fully get into them. Never the less, I do keep trying.

A little OT, yes -- let's try and keep those types of threads a bit limited, just to keep the forum more focused. :)

But yes, it makes sense to ask people who like AGoD what other games they enjoy, since their preferences may be the same! Personally, I enjoy quite a few of Paradox's titles, though admittedly I get easily distracted by new releases before I can really dive into one of the larger games. I'm very intrigued by, and smitten with, Crusader Kings 2. It's so different from the usual and pretty much a "Sims for Adults" (but I did like the original Sims, as well!). But since I rarely get to sit down and play for multiple hours without someone wanting something from me, it takes me ages to finish a round. A little lighter are the Majesty games, which I also greatly enjoy.

I actually Grew up with some P-Dox titles! Was 9 years old when I got hold of my first Paradox Game, Svea Rike. But I think I tested 90% of Paradoxs games, both inhouse and published. And a few favorites are Majesty, EU2, Rome, Mount and Blade.

Mount and Blade :D! 2 is coming soon, though it is not a PDX gamen is it ? :/
