So I kinda got a wierd Issue since the last patch (3.9).
Whenether I start the game from steam, which in turn starts the paradox launcher, my Internet connection crashes and is down for a minute or so.

The router resets as if I unplugged all the cables and plugged them back in.
Normally I would never attribute the problem to something like a game launcher, but after trying several times I noticed that it only happens when the launcher starts and I automatically log in with my Paradox account.

Game patches do not in general mean launcher patches or updates, they are separate apps.

So was this perhaps after a launcher update? 2023.11 came out a couple of weeks ago.

That said, I have no idea what the interaction between it and your internet connection could possibly be. Make sure all these apps are in the exceptions lists of the firewalls in Windows and in your router:

dowser.exe (in the Steam Stellaris folder)
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2023.11/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

Does that help?

Make sure all these apps are in the exceptions lists of the firewalls in Windows and in your router:

The router shouldn't know which app is making a connection (or sending a connectionless UDP).

Which ports & protocols would those be for the launcher?

I don't know, I'm sorry! Never needed that info in the years the launcher has been out ...

The url it goes to is https://api.paradox-interactive.com if that's of any help.

Okay, that looks like standard HTTP just like the browser he's using to post on this forum, so it's probably not the connection type itself.

It might be something about the contents of the transmission, or the number of connection attempts, rather than the connection type.

If you have a VPN, try logging into that before starting the launcher/game. Does that change matters?
