I had installed the Paradox launcher in an External HDD, but that HDD got corrupted and is inaccessible. So now I am unable to reinstall the Launcher as the below error pops up. This also appears when I attempt to uninstall the launcher through the Control panel. How can I resolve this?

Uninstall the launcher with this MS tool

Then Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
OR
- exit the Epic app entirely
- run EpicGamesLauncher.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the Epic client

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Hi Andrew, I tried the above but it didn't work. The tool helped to uninstall the launcher but is still not allowing me to reinstall as the same error pops up. Pls, see below the attached files from the log folder.

Those logs go back to 2020 so I'm afraid you cannot have deleted the folders I listed. Please carefully go through all my steps again, thanks!

The 1603/1605 errors we see there are typically a previous other installation stuck, or a problem in the Windows update/install processes.

If you see msiexec running in Task manager-processes, kill it and try this launcher install again please.

Otherwise run the Update app in Windows, does it load okay, find anything to apply - whether a patch, update, or whole new Windows 10 version? If so do that and reboot, then try this launcher install again please.

If still no good, do you see Paradox Launcher v2 in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall? If so does it uninstall cleanly, or get an error doing that? Run that MS tools I linked above again, does it still find anything stuck it can remove?

You could also use the free utilities Ccleaner and Revo Uninstaller to make 100% sure all trace of the launcher are gone, before going through that clean install process one more time.
