Regarding Paradox's offer to review the mod code:

It might be worth it to kick butt to get an update out, or just do a preliminary bare-bones 2.5.x update, just to get that code review. While it might take some extra focus now, the potential bug finding could save you all a lot of time and heart ache down the road. My spidy sense says that Paradox secretly hopes to do this mod.

When and where did they make this offer?

You seem to be under the impression we haven't already? ;)
A public release is not necessary for paradox to receive a build of the mod ;)

Wait, what happened? Paradox reached out to the team?

Apparently; I don't know the details but it sounds like it's about bug-squashing and/or reviewing the features of the mod for the Post-Conclave release... (Those bloody megacorps and their nice offers to help a bunch of modders! All a bunch of corrupt corporate executives working for the Illuminati of course...)

It's a pretty smart thing for the Paradox guys to do. Seeing as this is one of the most played mods in all the Paradox games it makes sense they would want to keep the fan base growing.

Imagine if they actually could get the licesne from George R.R Martin to do this officially. The Mod developers could land a job even given the outstanding work they've done so far.

I would rather not having Paradox get the rights for a Game of Thrones mod. That means nothing will/can stop them from making their own thing then selling it to us on Steam for an expansion style price. Especially when the current mod is just as good as an officially released thing. Just think of it really, if Paradox charges us $2-$15 for sprites and faces, imagine an entire rework of the game into the Song of Ice and Fire universe. This can include cultural faces, sprites for regions (Look at the stag head helmets used by Baratheon bannermen in the first episode of the series, as well as the Lannister and Stark bannermen, PLUS the upcoming Tyrell bannermen in Season 6).

Paradox is not getting the rights to the mod, only offering to do a QA pass because they're interested in more information on Out of Sync errors that tend to be more prevalent with mods than vanilla.
