Have Paradox ever thought of the idea of a yearly membership where people can pay a fixed amount and in return they get (pro rata based on subs):
  • DLC content i.e. one or two free DLC
  • PDX newsletter
  • Discounted goods on the PDX store
  • Access to PDX con tickets
  • etc
You know the sort of thing.

I've always looked upon the DLC model as being a way to support future game development. For that support you get DLC content. However, perhaps you could expand this system into a membership/patron structure as described above.

Just an idea.

I'd totally buy a membership type of thing that gave me access to all DLC to one or two games of my choosing, maybe even allowing me to play expansion a day before the official release, or exclusive cosmetic content.

They have expressly said they don't want to do any sort of subscription model as they don't want to feel pressured to release x amount of DLC in any specific time frame.
