Patch 1.09 corrupts game database?

Hi. I just bought EuII, and downloaded the 1.09 patch. The patched required me to specify a path for installation, so I put in C:\Program Files\Typhoon Games\EU2. After running the patch however when I try to start the game it tells me the DB is corrupt and there is an unexpected termination of normal.exe.

Before I ran the patch I could run EU2 1.03 (the version that came with the box set I expect) after changing the AVI folder to AVI_back as I was seeing the black screen. I use Windows XP Home.

Please help.
 
Typhoon games version require a patch from Typhoon games.
You should check their website for their latest available patch.

Also determine wether you have regular EU2 or EU2:Asian Chapter, which is a different game.
