Patch 2.3.2 error - "Vae Victis is not installed"

Bought Rome Gold and used the last beta patch.

I just tried to get the new patch by loading Impulse but it doesn't have it.

I downloaded vv_232.exe from the launcher and closed the launcher.

Executing the patch prompts a box with "Europa Universalis Rome - Vae Victis is not installed."

What did I do wrong?

and something d3dx....dll not found...
game worked perferctly before the latest patch?

Yes, the beta worked except for some known bugs. Still works. Just no install for the new patch!


EDIT: I switched the backup 2.2 directory for the beta 2.3 one and tried to install on that, but no luck either.

RESOLVED - moved out saves and uninstalled, then a fresh install from Impulse and then the patch download file patched OK (thought the NET install was incompatible with the installed NET version as before so did not install).

Bought the same version as Sir Garnet "Rome gold"on D2D and have the same error every time ,uninstall the game and install again ,aply the patch and again "Europa Universalis Rome - Vae Victis is not installed.

Hve the same problem with installing the 2.3.2 patch. Doing and doing it again (the whole process) it tells when I want to run the game that a file called d3dx9_41.dll is missing???

You need to update Microsoft's DirectX 9.0c to the latest version; you have to download the installer (dxwebsetup.exe), save it to a local directory, and then run it.

The thread where i've post my message is"Vae victis is not installed", here it's a problem with missing DLL, please try to open your own thread...

Do i have to wait for Direct2drive to put their own patch for "EU-Romegold"or the problem is elsewhere???

oddly enough they do have the last patch listed there, i was actually able to install that...so that's one step closer.

Why oddly enough?
They took from October 09 (when 2.2 was released) to May 2010 to make the 2.2 patch available to their users.
Luckily for me I only bought it from them in said May 2010, for $4.95.

Sadly, many online platforms are not very professional regarding updates for non-mainstream titles. I had a similar experience with Impulse.

I found a program called Inno Setup Extractor on http://innounp.sourceforge.net/ - you can use this to extract the files from the archive and just copy 'em over.

Too bad you can't just force it to install, whether it finds the files or not.
