Patch 2 cannot find saved games

Finally got the patch to work thanks to the advice given in the various threads here... But now the game does not "see" my previously saved games (saved before applying patch 2)... Yet the files themselves are still there in the right directory...

what to do ? anyone else ran into this ?

Check in your "Documents" folder. That is apparently the default. Also, I don't think it is recommended to continue from old save games after applying a new patch.

Hi, sorry to hear about your savegame problems.

Can you check what files you exactly have in your
"Documents\East India Company\SaveGame" (or My Documents in XP)?
This could help us narrow down the reasons causing your problem. There should be something like "save1.eic", "save2.eic" etc. and a "Medo8vqsz.eic".

The SaveGames always go inside the Documents of the user that is logged in. If you for example start the game as an Administrator and type some other admin username and password, then the SaveGames go to that admin-users documents.

Also, have you had Open Beta installed before? Open Beta SaveGames won't work with the real game.

Nope I did not use open beta... I just installed the initial version of the game and then as they came out , both patches
