Patch for non-Strategy First version

Hey,

I just got the Ubisoft/Paradox version (not the Strategy First version) of EUII and it says it's at v. 1.04. I tried to download the 1.07 patch but realized that it only works on the Strategy First version.

Is the 1.04 version I have okay? If not, is there a way to get the most recent patch for my version? I've searched around a bit but to no avail...

Search a little more ... see that sticky thread up there titled "Latest EU2 Patch is 1.07 "? Check it out, your needed link is in there.

Since you did not say which UBi soft version you have we cannot tell you the exact patch you need. However the thread Andrew pointed you to will offer you links by nation/language which you can select from.

Duh...

Sorry, I think I just got a clue...as a typical American, it never occurred to me that my version could be any other than good ol' red-white-and-blue (or possibly red-and-white-with-maple-leaf). But then I had a realization -- since I have the Ubi Soft version, perhaps this necessarily means that I have the UK version? Sure enough.

To summarize: don't be like me and assume that just because you hail from the US your game does too. From what I can tell, here's the rule:

Your box says Strategy First (NOT Ubi Soft) -> You have the North American version
Your box says Ubi Soft (NOT Strategy First) -> You have the UK version
(I don't know how to tell if your version is from Australia/New Zeland...)
(And to point out the obvious, this doesn't apply to non-English versions...)
