Hey- I have the north american version of HOI and I can't seem to download the patch. I've tried reinstalling several times and I've even tried downloading both patches but every time I try to open it it says install game first. I haven't edited any files, I've tried to put the patch in the directory the game is in and it still says it can't find it... I read all the previous posts but none I've seen so far have fixed my problem... If you have any suggestions or help to offer that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1)Do you have Admin ability enabled, you definately need that for win2000. You must install both the game and the patch as admin.

Yes, under my admin account, I installed both version 1.0 and the patch.
The publisher is Strategy First and the patch is
HOI-Patch-1.01-NA.exe (North American)

My suggestion then is to uninstall, reinstall using the default path.
