Patch Paused Content File Locked

Hi

The latest patch will not finish installing. It claims that the Female_clothing_secular_steppe_nobility_normal_01,dds file is locked. Since the patch is downloaded and largely installed, it won't run because launching the game tries to finish the update. I tried rebooting steam, verifying files. Anything else I can do?

Generally that's an issue with your anti-virus blocking the patching

1) run steam as an administrator
2) add steam and ck3.exe in the whitelist of your anti-virus

Yeah, I double checked and I already had that set up. So I'm not sure what's what. I see other folks are having trouble specifically with the ransomware protection. I'll see if that has to be disabled separately from the general whitelisting, though it should be covered by the main whitelist.

Well, I got it working. I removed the files from my whitelist, added them again, and rebooted the entire system. Then it ran properly.

You might want to whitelist the entire directory. The whitelist might crc check the file on a per-file basis, so when the game updates, it sees its 'different' and freaks out thinking some virus infected it or something
