patch wont work

stupid question: i have the australian disc, which gives me version 1.0. i download a patch (not knowing whether i should use the north american one or the other one on offer), install it, and find that the game doesn't recognise my disc anymore. which patch should i download, or is there simply not one for the version that shipped to australia? i'm very quickly getting tired of the game crashing on me all the time and would like to upgrade to a more stable version. if it crashes once more i'm going back to civ iii..... any aussies on the board that can help? cheers yaablett

Contact the publisher of that version.

We simply provide the code+files for each publisher so that they can make patch-files.
