I have three versions of Hearts of Iron 2 on my machine. The first is the vanilla version of HOI2, version 1.2. I have two other versions of HOI2 1.2 installed; one has the Stony Road mod, and the other has the TRP mod. I would like to download the latest Paradox patch for HOI2 and just update the vanilla version of HOI2 (1.2) because saved games with the other two modded versions aren't compatable. How do I avoid the installer from installing the patch to EVERY version of HOI2 on my machine?

The installer will only touch the hoi2 version in your original installation folder, ie. the folder where you let setup install hoi2 into. Assuming you haven't modified the installation files setup has created for you, or the registry keys involved.

I have a problem when I'm trying to update from 1.2 to 1.3, I get the following message:
hoi2fel.JPG

What is wrong? I have the game installed so it can't be my fault, can it?
I've downloaded the patch about 2-3 times, but always get the same message
Could it be that I had mods installed earlier? I had both Modern day and Total realism, but I removed them about 1 month ago

Try unisntal and reinstall. Read the sticky on how to uninstall. You muat first install 1.03a and then the ai fix. (1.03b)

Yeah, I guess nothing else will work anyway so I might as well reinstall it

Thanks... I doubt I'll ever leave this forum since I love HoI2 and all those AAR's that are found here :)

Another question:
Why can't I liberate other countries when I play with the no time limit mod? I think I'm in 1958 or something and it's only me (soviet) and Japan left in the entire world... Is there some way to make it possible to release countries again?

Try main forum, maybe they know the answer :)

You need to edit db\revolt.txt and change the expirydates. Easiest way would probably be a global find & replace from "year = 1947" to "year = 2199".

Actually the mod forum would be the correct place to ask this question since it concerns a mod.

Thanks for helping :)
I didn't thought of posting it in the mod forums, since it was a problem with the game itself, and not really the mod (at least from my point of view, the mod only makes the game last longer than 1947)
Anyhow, now it's settled, and I think I'm gonna have some fun conquering the world again after releasing all countries, let them build full-teched armies (I have all techs) and then crush them once and for all
