Patching polish version with 1.03bENG

Is this possible? It worked in EU2 and HOI, but in CK installer says, that I haven`t installed CK. I renamed CrusadersENG to Crusaders but it didn`t help. Unfortunately I already have integrated 1.02 patch on the CD.
It would be *very nice* to have a possibility of applying english patches, as CDProjekt (polish distributor) is usually late with the patches or does not retail them at all.
 
After a few hours of trials :wacko: I managed to install English patch on Polish version. So, there are things to do:
1. Install German patch. I think other languages (other than English) will also work.
2. If you like German language, skip part 3 and 4.
3. Run REGEDIT (start menu, run, regedit), select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Paradox Entertainment/Crusader Kings, then replace word "German" with "English".
4. Now you can install English patch.
5. Unfortunately, it installs in your Windows folder, so now you have to move file crusaders.exe and following folders: db, config, gfx, scenarios from Windows folder to Crusaders folder.
6. Copy files from "mapeng" folder to "map" if you want English map.

It works. :rolleyes:


BTW I don't understand why my original crusaders.exe file is sized 10.7 MB, and new file only 1.80 MB. But it works. I think some dark magic is involved here :wacko:

I`m really curious, why you can install english over german (In registry polish version has... english language actually), while you can`t over polish one. And why the hell it installs in Windows folder???

Some publishers use their own installers. ;)

But speaking seriously - it really works. I installed the patch using "german method" as desribed above.

What part did it fail on, could you install the German version?

Who is the publisher then their logo will be on the CD.
