Patching problem

I'm reinstalling the game to an earlier version to play with a friend so I uninstall, then install ans then patch to 1.2

It says it did it successfully but upon loading says 1.0 why is this?

It appears patching beyond 1.2 works fine, but for some reason uninstalling and then doing a fresh install doesn't update it to 1.2.

All it says is 1.0, I tried patching it to 1.2 it doesn't work, it works to patch to 1.3a.

But did you look at the EXE before and after to see if it had changed?
And really get your friend to get a later patch, it will benefit both of you.

Argh his brother tried convincing him but he complains as Russia losing 3-1 against the poles etc etc the newb.

I'll check again I'm deleting every single back up/mod of Hoi2 and reinstalling it all from scratch to make damned sure it works.

Also upon reinstallation the version is: 1.0.0.1. I'll instsll 1.1 (to try something new) and then 1.2.

:UPDATE:

After keeping track of the versions from 1.001 to 1.1 to 1.2 there has been absolutely no difference in the versions.

:UPDATE: False alarm turns out my uberreinstall worked. What version it says under properties appears to be... irrelevent. Its 1.2 successfully thanks for your support, I had to uninstall everysingle copy of Hoi2/Mod on my computer and I deleted every registry setting connected with hoi2.

Ah I see, well most of those things are common sense I generally only post after I've found that no resemblence of a problem has happened before.
