Hey,

I haven't played EU4 in over a year and while trying to get back into the game I encounter the same problem whenever I try to load up the game. The launcher as well as loading screen works fine, but as soon as it gets out of the loading screen and wants to zoom/pan into the main menu my entire PC crashes and I have to manually reboot it. For a second or so I am able to see the box thing with the latest DLC, but then the screen turns black with some random discoloration whilst the music either continues playing or plays the same sound over and over again.

I have updated windows to the latest version, deleted my video driver and installed the latest one, deleted all mods and did the clean reinstall (multiple times, after pretty much every one of these things I've tried) and added euiv.exe, dowser.exe and the paradox launcher to the exceptions of my AV (Windows Defender, including the ransomware thing).

I have attached every file that I've seen moderators ask for in other posts, except for exceptions.log since I couldn't find it.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your response!

I had already updated my driver previously, but to be thorough I reinstalled it again and the problem persists. I have to add that the latest available driver for my Radeon R9 280 is already 6 months old and placed in the legacy section. I Googled around a little bit and the problem I'm having seems to be a common one and AMD listed it as a known issue for the driver version I am now using (Adrenaline 22.6.1). Apparently a work-around is to disable Enhanced syncing in the Radeon settings, but doing so yielded the same results for me. I will continue searching for a solution later, but if you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

All I can think of is reverting to a previous driver version, back from when you did not get this problem with the game!
