Out of curiousity, if I get a province for an ally during a peace resolution, will it improve my relations with the country i got it for. On the same toke, will not giving an ally a province hurt my relations with a country? Or is the EU model for AIs not that complicated?

It does exactly that. Giving a province to someone will be very beneficial to ur relationship, starting a war with ur allies and keeping it all for urself makes for angry allies :D

Giving a province to a vassal might make them so pleased with you that you can annex them the next day - so you get the province anyway :D

..one of my favourites tactics - I just hope none of my vassals(or future vassals) are reading this post.......

I i annex and share the country does that increae relations?

IMHO, understanding peace resolutions is the key to this game. If you can only "get to" 2 of his provinces, I would be very happy to pick up Tripolitana in a peace. I don't think the AI has ever offered me a province when I hold just two. Unless you managed to pick up some of those elusive stars for winning "pitched battles"....

As Russia, I was allied with Poland and combined we annexed The Teutonic order. The AI started the war and I recieved 2 provinces, and PL recieved the other, not bad for me.

But this seems to be an exception, more often than not the AI will not give you province you control of a common enemy. I believe my example only happened due to annexation.

But, in order to give your allies provinces, don't they need to be in possesion of them?

For example, if allied with Poland and Playing Austria and at war with Turkey, If I hold Delta and Alexandria and Pold holds Anatolia I can go to the Turks and tell them to give Anatolia to the Poles as part of the peace accords right? But If I am holding Anatolia in addition to the other two, I can't give one of the three to the Poles right?
