I'm running a large galaxy map (600 stars) with 7 AI empires, no advanced, 3 Fallen Empires, lowest hyperlanes setting, no wormholes , default pop growth and scaling growth settings, everything else default; and yet the game is running very poorly as early as 2260. Every time I pan around the galaxy map at normal/full speed my game begins to stutter. Mind you: this is not even in the mid game. I will try to reach the 2300 year mark to see if it gets worse. And of course I'm also experiencing a slow down in game speed which should not happen in 2260 when there is around 2000 pops in the galaxy.

1. What platform are you using?
PS5

2. What version of the game are you using?
3.9.3 (PS5 Release)

3. What DLC do you have installed?
All of them

4. When did this start happening?
As early as 2260

5. Can you replicate it, if so, please explain how
Always

6. Does this happen on all saves or just specific ones?
Happens on all saves

7. What steps have you taken to try and solve this yourself (reinstall, Google error code etc)?
N/A

Edit: I reached the 2300 year mark and It only got worse, as expected. Can a mod see this and pass it to the devs?

Reactions:
I accidentally started with a large galaxy (600 systems),
even though I usually play with a medium-sized one at most.
However, I noticed lags right at the beginning of the game.
I observed a science ship slowing down briefly several times.
I have to admit that I’m playing on the less powerful PS4,
but I’m still concerned: If this already happens in the early game with a large galaxy,
what will it be like in the mid- or late-game with a medium-sized galaxy?
Unfortunately, I have to say that the performance hasn’t noticeably improved,
even though it was one of the main focuses in the development of this update.

A PS4 will struggle since it is a 10 year old system (less powerful, just like you said). It should not struggle this much in the early game on a PS5 which is a 4 year old system . There is only 3 map settings in the console edition: Small (200 stars) Medium (400) and Large (600). On PC a Large settings is a 800 star galaxy map. I bet if I could run a 600 star settings on PC with whatever hardware the PS5 has i'd have no problem until the endgame. Put simply: I think the game is still running on the old console hardware even on PS5/XBOX X
