Performance - laggy/choppiness

Hello,

I love EU4 but the game performance is so bad for me. I've noticed choppiness and a lag-like feel to the game, which gets worse as the game progresses on.
I have good specs and I've done the usual checks, like making sure my graphics drivers are up-to-date, a clean reinstall of the game and verifying the integrity of the game files. I've also checked if there was some overheating but I've not found any overheating at all.

I've attached the dxdiag and let me know if there's anything else I need to provide. I've played CK3 and not noticed the lag I do on EU4. I've also noticed that reloading a save can help the lag a bit, but I'm not sure if this is a long term solution.

The current 1.32.x patches are faster than 1.31.x , but both are slower than 1.30.x . Is that what you've found?

100%. I use to rollback because of this but I thought the recent patches might've addressed this. Any ideas?

Well, as I say, 1.32.x HAS addressed this (compared to 1.31.x) to some degree. Apparently it was caused by adding too many new provinces in 1.31 . How much more optimisation can be done I'm not sure!
