Year is 1756. This country is in pretty crappy shape, but it's won a lot of wars and pissed off a lot of countries. Many players are gunning for it now. I imagine it would be a fun challenge
.
I exagerated a little about it being in crappy shape, but for Spain it's poor- only 300D monthly, mostly because I sold South America to France early in the game and my terrible monarchs. Techs however are top notch, on par with all the other powers and it has a decent navy. This game uses military tradition, which is a wonderful system for rewarding warlike players with better generals. Spain has pretty good MT.
A little info on the situation: Spain has gone Bourbon, creating a strong alliance with France(very rich and strong in this game). Lately we've taken some cots and embargoed England, Sweden, Denmark, and Holland. This has helped income a lot, but of course the greedy trade powers want to re-establish their disenfranchised merchants. Austria is on pretty good terms, as is Prussia, though the alliance with France might pull them into a conflict sooner or later. As the new Spain, I suppose it would be pretty easy to patch things up by lifting embargoes and apologizing, but if you know what you're doing Spain is definitely capable of handling itself in war.
