I've run into a persistent CTD in my current game with the latest patch and the R+L=J submod

The error log says this

Seems like these could be important

I also came here to mention a persistent CTD with the latest patch. I went back to the oldest auto save and did things completely differently cause sometimes that works but no still same date.

Those errors aren't serious and are mostly false postives. Could you please upload a save where the CTD is repeatable?

Don't know if it's related, but I keep getting the same CTD around the same time period (between March and April, for me). The error log I got is exactly the same as that of OP as well.
I also tried restarting from older autosaves, but to no avail: I always crash a few months after the date of the latest autosave.
Attaching the logs, the crash dumps and the savefiles.

Sorry for the double post, but I managed to solve the CTD problem, by removing the lines 6189 to 6290 in the "mantainance_events.txt" file in the events folder. I have no idea what I might have broken by doing this, but at least the game hasn't crashed since.

Can you be more specific what lines you removed? I don't have a program that tells me the number of the lines in the file, but I'm having the same crash as everyone else here.

Edit: tried to find it, is it the "#Emperor gives away secondary empire maintenance" event?

Thanks for the saves/info, we will take a look.

I use notepad++, it's free.

Yes, that's the one. I put a # before every line between that line and the "#Ai job action control" line.

Also, about this: does the game engine recognize the /* [...] */ method for commenting several lines of code?

I might have found another crash-causing event. Apart from all the "malformed token" errors, the error.log file says:
Code:
[persistent.cpp:37]: Error: "Unexpected token: has_character_modifier, near line: 1993
" in file: "events/high_valyrian_events.txt" near line: 1993

@knuckey, be careful, there's really no way to tell a "false positive" error from a real one.
There's a lot of errors in log, and the log is not very informative. Tthere were a few odd crashes in CK2+ that turned out to be "not really a false positive".

Is anyone able to post a fix for this? I've been having this problem and messing with the event file hasn't fixed it.

Edit: Seems just turning off the auto-save stopped the crash
Edit 2: aaaaand now I just crash whenever I save the game

I am also getting similar CTD. The game crashes on Jan 1st. It doesn't crash if I turn off auto-save, but then crashes anytime I try to save the game after Jan 1st.

The crash will only happen while trying to save the game. If you turn autosave off and don't save, then it works fine.
