Finally managed to get comfortable with the decoration tools and how to avoid getting slaughtered by the locals while playing the Blue? crystal map in the campaign. Took me ages to get the first areas down and balance the economy. But after a few hours Pitcheforde stands strong.

Being and old Dwarf Fortress OCD player I couldn't help but make a proper entrance to the fort (and I accidentally punched a hole to the wooden enclosure at the start of the map :eek:o)

Two double stairs leading down to a small platform, two doors leading to the common quarters (food, drink and workshops) and a stone bridge leading to the throme room and treasury.

Of course all this construction required massive amounts of stone - I couldn't very well dig down in fear of monsters this early, so I decided to start making a strip mine nearby on the surface.

This was later connected to the old "starting area" cavern to speed up walking.

The common folk can sleep on the hard rock floor and eat the mold off of the walls - the throne room must come first always! And so it did - a great throne room and treasuries were carved out and decorated in style.

One of the rooms were later made into a private royal bedroom so that the clan leader did not have to mingle with the commoners at all.

With the royal accommodations completed, work could finally begin on the commoners quarters.

Plenty of beds and great tables for food and drink were constructed out of the giant trees that once made their roots on the surface (not really). A great workshop for the scholars was built so that we may advance ourselves better! (A ladder leading down to the old start is between the two doors on the outside)

With proper accommodations and a great quarry finally in place, we could send word home for more supplies - and more importantly warriors. One cannot truly call himself a dwarf unless he digs with great effort and greedily. But before we could start taking pickaxes to the ground we had to build an outpost for our warriors. A place for them to rest after battle and to safeguard in case the ground struck back.

With all of these things finally completed, we could dig down and greedily - after many months of spelunking, we came upon an old tomb - with a mage!
