Hi all

Ok, I am back again and can start making sprites once more.
People are wanting more planes sprites so I started making them. I've made two new ones and remade several old ones.

To start off, the first is an I-16 pre-war fighter for the Soviet Union. The Yak and La5 is now L2 and L3 (improved and advanced fighters). Its made for the USSR but Spain can use it as well.
The other one is a Japanese Zero (level 2). The original sprite look like a naval or torpedo plane. I've add a torpedo underneath and made it a naval/torpedo bomber.

I reworked the Yak, La5 and MC-205 with better textures, so they should look better.

Hell yeah we want more planes!!!

The first bunch you did were excellent, and were really consistent with the HOI style.

I hope you can do loads more - these new ones are excellent.

Hi, The reason why they are sharp is because I used the "sharpen" command in Photosuite. Its like an anti anti-aliased function, it really bring out the details. The sprites were quite blurry before I applied it. Try it and see how it looks???

To nachinus: At first the MiG-15 should be level 3, but when I played the game, once you researched adv. fighters you get the jet sprite. That doesn't make sense, adv. fighters and L3 suppose to represent Yaks and Las. So it upgraded them and add a I-16 for pre-war. Now if there was a l4 then the jet would fit... You could change them if you wish.

OK, i didnt know that, ive never get to advanced fighters with SOV, so i never reached to see the jetfigther. Now that i know it, i agree with you.;)
 
newU365, what rendering + modelling soft do you use (I remember you use POVRay?) ? I have this problem with some colors not filtered out on the edges of some of my land units, and it really bugs me. I see you have completely eliminated anti-alias in your planes. How did you do it (what options on when renderingg)? I remember seeing an option to filter alpha channel or something :p but I forgot. Cool planes

As a confused HOI-Editing neophyte, though....

I don't know where to drop these files. What respective folders do they get dropped into. I see the SPR and BMP files, but am unsure where to copy them to.

Any help on this?

I managed to put them in the correct folders but it would be easier yes if the directory structure was in the zip as well...

NewU365, did you fix this little bug?

Btw, the typo is also in the 'bitmap' entry. It says L3 instead L2, like in the palette entry.
