I'm really looking forward to this game, but I'm wondering about the plans for content after release? Have they given out any kind of information on that front?
I know of no official DLC announcements.

Game mechanics and background appear to lend themselves to the Indiana Jones-type of serial drama… this time the Tower, maybe next time the Voyage of the Vagabond, as a “ghost” ship puts in at random exotic ports and our Lamplighters race against the clock and various factions to understand/overcome/win-out against various direct and indirect threats.

Lamplighter adventures, just like the adventures of Dr Jones, are potentially timeless, nostalgic and replayable! : )

At this time the only dlc known would be the deluxe edition content, which includes the following:

  • The Lamplighters League Base Game
  • The Nocturne Exclusive Playable Character
  • The Lamplighters League Original Soundtrack
  • The Lamplighters League Digital Art Book

What would be the content of new DLC's? More heroes, new evil to fight?

I would rather have the game to come out as a super polished and finished first Chapter of a long term Story mode. New chapters would have old heroes return, not always as playable characters since they aged, sustained injuries or died (not like death in these games could hold a real hero down for long). New faces join the League and together with the veterans get ready face new evil, maybe some of the old enemies would also return even worse than before.

Will this game have multiplayer? Players could control individual heroes, some get the be the bad guys. Had some silly battle royale spin-off idea too ._.

I just have this feeling in the back of my head that starting the DLC sushi belt too soon might harmful in some way or another. What do you think?

I'm mostly interested in knowing how the developers see the long term lifespan of the game. I would prefer a couple of larger expansions rather than a bunch of piecemeal content drips, but I have a feeling that the latter is how Paradox does things.

We would be fortunate indeed, to have a long term lifespan for an HBS game. : )

I'm fine if there is NO long-term dlc. I imagine that this IP, being both new and pretty niche in terms of base gameplay and artwork (it looks a bit like a Pixar design!), really needs to establish itself before dlc is introduced. While I could see story-based dlc being used to extend the game after launch and after players have played the full story out, each dlc would cast a tighter and tighter net if this is what is done, as the dlc would be useful mainly to the players who actually finished the game. While Paradox players may be a "different" than most standard gamers that % completing the story would probably never exceed 40% of all who started it. Dlc in this form could be fun, but perhaps not economically feasible.

Just like this base game is taking us in search of The Tower, future DLC’s could see our Lamplighters galavanting off to other dark, dastardly and dangerous corners of the globe. : )
