Just got the game last night off of Steam. I like it a lot but it's definitely a complicated game. I started off playing the North Korean scenario and just got to the outskirts of Pusan before my armies were basically destroyed. It's too bad there's no tutorial, though.
Now I've been messing around with the USSR and am loving it but am having some major trouble in general figuring out how to do some things.
1: Nukes. How does one get them and then use them, exactly? How do I build them and the silos necessary to launch them? It says at the beginning of the game that I've successfully tested a nuke but as far as I can tell I have no more and not much in the way of technology researched to get more. And secondly, once I get them how do I go about using them?
2: The economy. As the Soviet Union I find myself very quickly hitting the negatives when it comes to income. Are there any tips in general or specific to the USSR that I can use to make sure I can maintain the production of a large military and still turn at least a tiny profit? After neutral Finland shot on some of my units I DOW'd on them but after annexation I didn't seem to get any larger income. Are there any specific buildings I should build that will passively earn money?
3: Diplomacy: Any tips on how to entice other countries into joining your alliance? I've been looking at both North Vietnam and North Korea. Conversely, as North Korea I found it very difficult to ally with, say, China even though I figured it would be relatively easy given the historical circumstances.
