Summary

Playing in Belgium for about a year will experience a crash with a pop-up desktop

Description

I opened two files before and after, both of which were in Belgium, and after playing the game for a year to two years, I encountered a crash where the game popped up on the desktop, and Steam was also forced to quit. When I reopened the game, I ran into the problem again after playing for a while, and when the first save had a problem, I followed the solution given on the forums - clear the shader cache, and at the same time, disable the steam cloud storage, and then open the second save and crashed after playing it for less than a year, but this time Steam was not forced to quit.

Steps to reproduce

Application: Victoria 3
Version: 1.7.0

Hi! The crash doesn't look like anything on game side, and the Steam client crashing suggests some kind of RAM or virtual memory issue. Could you please upload your DxDiag file (Windows Start Menu -> DxDiag -> Save all information)? Thanks!

Try increasing the amount of virtual memory. In my case, the game crashed every 5-30 minutes after starting a game session with exactly the same error as yours, but regardless of the selected nation. I doubled the maximum virtual memory size (in my case to 16 GB). After that, the game didn't crash for 3 hours straight.
