Playing Italy... and waring with the 3rd Reich

Okay, I started as Italy and everything went as expected. Until I declared war at Jugoslawia in December 1937. In January, Germany declared war on me!
Two month later I signed a peace treaty with the government of Jugoslawia which allready fled from the city of Belgrad into one of the eastern provinces. I took half of the county and was able to grab all the coastal provincces without much blood shed.

One month later, in April 1938, France declared war on Germany with no provocation! The commonwealth joined in on the side of France while Germany stands alone, still being in war with mighty Italy!

One year later, the war between Germany and France is a stale mate. Holland and Belgium are still not completely secured and provinces on both sides of the border are switching their owner regularly. And Mussolini is still not able to get Hitler to it's senses and join forces. This german madman ist still in war with glorious Italy! :wacko:

I took Albania last month and am now more hated than the Nazis of the Third Reich. I'll sit back and wait the next months. Northern Italy ist still secured by an independant Austria which does not even allow Germany troops inside it's borders.

What a strange game sofar. It seems Italy changed history by making the first step in securing tha balkan.

I always join the Allies with Italy... go figure: when one doesn´t want to it happends.

Two more month were gone and Germany still refused to talk about peace. The military wanted to show it's might but who to strike against?
A plan formed and Italy declared war... against Austria! I cut through the southern part like a hot knife through butter and took Wien only days later. The Facists of Austria offered peace and I took what was rightfully mine. They remained a minor country, only the eastern part of their nation still theirs.
My objective was another one: Munich! Where all of Hitler might started, I wanted to strike!
Meanwhile, Poland declared war against Germany and two weeks later the communist of the Sowjet Union did the same. Germany had only foes on the continent now and no friends at all.
It was clear, that joining Germany would be madness. Still I asked for peace... a last time. And once again the madman declined.
I was furious. I talked to the government of France and after a little haggling Italy joined the Allies.
The italian troops marched and Bavaria was mine in mere weeks. I went on to Saxony and stopped only when I could see the outer rims of Berlin. There it was: the very heart of evil!
The italian troops regrouped and stroke against the capital. After Rommel was defeated in Schweinfurth, the remaining german generals where not able to come up with a battle plan that could beat my brave troops. Berlin fell and green, white and red was raised on the Alex!
One month later all of Germany was in the hand o the Allies. It's the ending of the year 1939. Peace rules. But for how long?
