Ah, EU4, excellent! I'm really looking forward to playing this game! :) I just have one suggestion:

This looks like it will be another game which will absorb hundreds of hours of time. I thing that bothers me in this context is the repeating music track. I suppose it is nice but it is just too short. I hope that you will be adding hours of new music to the game, which will make it less repetitive.

Another cool suggestion would be changing music when you hover over different parts of the world (like in heroes of might and magic, where you have this dark and ominous music when you hover over lava, versus light and happy music when you hover over a forest). So, bach when you hover over Europe and Islamic music when you hover over the middle east :)

Another possibility, which might be a little less complex, is like in Civilization IV (don't know about V, never played it) The music changes when you progress through time. So it starts with little drums when you are in the prehistoric era, and it gradually changes to beautiful medieval and renaissance music. I absolutely loved it!

I wish the developers good luck with this game, and I hope that they will be able to do something with the music!

I have only one wish for the music:

Andreas Waldetoft! :D

And it would seem the wish is granted:

From his own website:
He is currently working on 4 unnanounced games for release in 2012 and 2013.

I agree that a double-length soundtrack would be nice. Ultimately the moddability of the soundtrack helps lots tho. My CK2 music for instance, is about 100 songs long.

That was a feature in EU2...

Please don't stop the music
You can't stop the music!
Nobody can stop the music!

I imagine it'd make more sense if the music is different depending on the country you play, otherwise it'd get a bit tiresome if you have to go back and forth between regions.

These are good ideas. Support.

Also this.

Just put in a load of Disco, Bluegrass and New Wave. That's what I always listen to when I'm playing CK2 anyway. I don't see why anyone would want anything different

I noticed that CK2 took a note from EU2, and implemented a way to change the music selected according to in game factors.

Though it would be a pain in the ass to edit the text file for a truly massive music library, I really hope Paradox include the feature in EUIV (which I'm guessing is likely, as it will let them market region specific music packs like they did for CKII).

If they do include the feature, I doubt I'll be buying any packs though, at least from DLC. But you can bet I WILL be building up one hell of an Ottoman playlist though.

I would be very interested to know which music you play, I'm not that much of an Ottoman music specialist :)

When the game comes out, I'll open a thread asking people to post the music they listen to when playing (a specific faction of) the game :)
