This has been something that's bugged me ever since Paradox games started coming out with multiplatform games: you can't play multiplayer between OSes, or at least not between Linux and Windows. As soon as you start a multiplayer game in every instance I've tried, whether in Crusader Kings or Europa, you get a desync within a month, maybe two months if you're lucky. Any chance there's been some work on this in the engine?

To be clear, I don't mean "will you be able to play multiplayer on all platforms", I mean "if I'm running Windows and my friend is running Linux, will we be able to play together," the answer to which has been no for every multiplatform Paradox game I've played.

Already confirmed, source: Stellaris Linux (Network) Support
We play Stellaris multiplayer every week, during those sessions we have people on Windows, OSX and Linux. Currently we have no problems in multiplayer related to what platform you are on and we want to keep it like that when the game is released.
